Sensory overload has been normalized today. From the moment we wake up until the moment we fall asleep (and even once asleep), people are taking in constant sights, sounds and screens. Reducing or trying to filter out some of this noise can help to cultivate calm. What I needed first though was an awareness of the prevalence and impact in order to plan how to impact it.
